Terms of Use

The Natural Health Option ABN 76916753107. Last updated 9 September 2026

1. Who these terms are between

This website is operated by Van Seng trading as The Natural Health Option, ABN 76916753107, Carrum Downs, Victoria, Australia.

"We", "us" and "our" mean The Natural Health Option. "You" means anyone who uses this website, books a session, attends an event, or buys a product from us.

2. Accepting these terms

By using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site or make a booking is the version that applies to you.

3. This website is educational, not medical advice

Everything on this website is general information for education and wellness planning. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not tailored to your circumstances.

We do not diagnose medical conditions, we do not prescribe medication, and we do not advise you to start, stop or change any medication or medical treatment. Those decisions belong to you and your treating doctor.

Nothing on this site is intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease.

Always speak with your general practitioner or another registered health practitioner before changing anything about your health care, particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescribed medication, or living with a diagnosed condition.

4. What our services are

Van Seng is a natural health practitioner and homeopath. She is not a registered medical practitioner and does not practise medicine.

Our services are complementary. They sit alongside your medical care; they do not replace it, and we will never ask you to stop seeing your doctor or to stop a prescribed treatment.

Where we review pathology results or hair tissue mineral analysis, that review is for education and wellness planning only. It is not a diagnostic interpretation, and it is not a second medical opinion. Take your results to your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

Practice in Victoria by practitioners who are not registered with AHPRA is governed by the Code of Conduct for general health services under the Health Complaints Act 2016 (Vic). We practise in accordance with that Code. A copy is available on the Code of Conduct page, and you can also make complaints directly to the Health Complaints Commissioner.

5. In an emergency

This website and our services are not for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger or needs urgent care, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department. For mental health support at any hour, Lifeline is on 13 11 14.

6. Your responsibilities

When you book with us, you agree to:

  • give an accurate and complete health history, including all medications, supplements and diagnosed conditions

  • tell us about anything that may be a contraindication, including pregnancy

  • tell us if your circumstances change between appointments

  • make your own decisions about your health care, in consultation with your doctor

We rely on the information you give us. If it is incomplete or inaccurate, what we suggest may not be appropriate for you.

7. Accuracy of information

We take care with what we publish, and we review it periodically. We do not warrant that every page is free of error or reflects the most current research at all times. Research in this field changes, and content on this site may not be updated the moment it does.

Where we describe traditional practice, such as homeopathy, we describe it as belonging to that tradition. That is not the same as a claim of biomedical proof.

8. Consultations: booking, payment and cancellation

Appointments are confirmed once payment or a deposit has been received.

Rescheduling and cancellation by you. Please give at least [48 hours] notice to reschedule or cancel. With that much notice we will reschedule you or refund your payment in full. With less than [48 hours] notice, or if you do not attend, the fee is not refundable, although we may transfer it once at our discretion if something genuinely unavoidable has happened.

Cancellation by us. If we cancel or cannot go ahead, you can choose a new time or a full refund.

Late arrival. Sessions run to the booked time. If you arrive late, we will use the time remaining.

9. Workshops, retreats and events

Places are limited and are confirmed on payment.

Cancellation by you. More than [30] days before the event, we refund your payment less a [$100] non-refundable deposit. Between [30] and [14] days before the event, we can transfer your payment to another event within [12] months or to another person. Within [14] days, payment is not refundable, but you may send someone else in your place if you tell us beforehand.

Cancellation or postponement by us. If we cancel or postpone an event, you may choose a full refund or a transfer to the rescheduled date. We will tell you as soon as we know.

Early bird pricing. Where an early bird price is advertised, it applies until the stated date and the standard price applies after it. It is not a discount from a price we ordinarily charge.

10. Products bought through our shop

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where GST applies.

We aim to dispatch within [3] business days. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Change of mind. You may return unopened products in original condition within [14] days of delivery for a refund less postage. For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of opened balms, oils, sprays, or remedies unless there is a problem with the product.

Problems with a product. If a product is faulty, damaged, not as described, or does not do what we said it would, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply, and clause 11 governs. Contact us, and we will sort it out.

11. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

For goods, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality, and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

For services, you are entitled to cancel your service contract and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value, if we fail to meet a consumer guarantee. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights. Where anything in these terms conflicts with the Australian Consumer Law, the Australian Consumer Law applies.

12. Liability

Subject to clause 11 and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this website, from information published on it, or from any decision you make about your health care.

Where our liability can be limited by law, it is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or refunding what you paid for it.

13. Privacy and your health information

We collect health information, which is sensitive information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We handle it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and our Privacy Policy, which is available at [insert link].

Your clinical records are kept securely. You can ask for access to them and ask us to correct them. We do not share your health information with anyone else without your consent, unless we are required or permitted by law to do so.

14. Confidentiality

What you tell us in a consultation, workshop or retreat stays confidential, other than where disclosure is required by law or where there is a serious and imminent risk to someone's safety.

Where sessions or events involve other participants, we ask everyone to keep what is shared in the room confidential. We cannot guarantee what other participants do, and you should share only what you are comfortable sharing.

15. Our content

The text, images, recordings and materials on this site and in our workshops belong to us or are used with permission. You may read, save and print them for your own personal use. You may not republish, resell or use them commercially, or record our sessions or events, without our written permission.

16. Links to other sites

We sometimes link to other websites and practitioners. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, their products or their claims.

17. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please tell us first. Email [insert email] and we will respond within [5] business days and try to resolve it with you directly.

If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Health Complaints Commissioner (Victoria) at hcc.vic.gov.au or on 1300 582 113.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction.
