The terms of using this site and our services

1. Who these terms are between

This website is operated by Van Seng trading as The Natural Health Option, ABN 76 916 753 107, Victoria, Australia.

"We", "us" and "our" mean The Natural Health Option. "You" means anyone who uses this website, books a session, attends an event, or buys a product from us.

2. Accepting these terms

By using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site or make a booking is the version that applies to you.

3. This website is educational, not medical advice

Everything on this website is general information for education and wellness planning. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not tailored to your circumstances.

We do not diagnose medical conditions, we do not prescribe medication, and we do not advise you to start, stop or change any medication or medical treatment. Those decisions belong to you and your treating practitioner.

Nothing on this site is intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease.

4. What our services are

Van Seng is a natural health practitioner and homeopath. She is not a registered medical practitioner and does not practise medicine.

Our services are complementary. They sit alongside your medical care; they do not replace it, and we will never ask you to stop seeing your doctor or to stop a prescribed treatment.

Any results you choose to share, including hair tissue mineral analysis, form part of your health history for education and wellness planning only. We do not provide diagnostic interpretations or second medical opinions.

Practice in Victoria by practitioners who are not registered with AHPRA is governed by the Code of Conduct for general health services under the Health Complaints Act 2016 (Vic). We practise in accordance with that Code. You can also make complaints directly to the Health Complaints Commissioner.

5. In an emergency

This website and our services are not for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger or needs urgent care, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department. For mental health support at any hour, Lifeline is on 13 11 14.

6. Your responsibilities

When you book with us, you agree to:

• give an accurate and complete health history, including all medications, supplements and diagnosed conditions
• tell us about anything that may be a contraindication, including pregnancy
• tell us if your circumstances change between appointments
• make your own decisions about your health care

We rely on the information you give us. If it is incomplete or inaccurate, what we suggest may not be appropriate for you.

7. Accuracy of information

We take care with what we publish, and we review it periodically. We do not warrant that every page is free of error or reflects the most current research at all times.

Where we describe traditional practice, such as homeopathy, we describe it as belonging to that tradition. That is not the same as a claim of biomedical proof.

8. Consultations: booking, payment and cancellation

Appointments are confirmed once payment or a deposit has been received.

Cancellation by you. For one to one sessions and Group Theta Healing, please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule, and you can move your appointment at no cost. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, and missed appointments, incur a $50 cancellation fee. Refunds are not provided for cancellations, but you are welcome to reschedule.

Cancellation by us. If we cancel or cannot go ahead, you can choose a new time or a full refund.

Late arrival. Sessions run to the booked time. If you arrive late, we will use the time remaining and the full fee applies.

9. Workshops and events

Places are limited. A $100 non refundable deposit secures your place, and the balance must be paid in full at least 3 days before the event.

Cancellation by you. Please give at least 48 hours notice to cancel. With 48 hours notice or more, we refund what you have paid less the $100 deposit, or transfer it to another event within 12 months. With less than 48 hours notice, payment is not refundable, but you may send someone else in your place if you tell us beforehand.

Cancellation or postponement by us. If we cancel or postpone an event, you may choose a full refund or a transfer to the rescheduled date.

Early bird pricing. Where an early bird or introductory price is advertised, it applies until the stated date and the standard price applies after it.

10. Products bought through our shop

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where GST applies.

Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Change of mind. You may return unopened products in original condition within 14 days of delivery for a refund less postage. For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of opened balms, oils, sprays or remedies unless there is a problem with the product.

Problems with a product. If a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply.

11. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights. Where anything in these terms conflicts with the Australian Consumer Law, the Australian Consumer Law applies.

12. Liability

Subject to clause 11 and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this website, from information published on it, or from any decision you make about your health care.

13. Privacy and your health information

We collect health information, which is sensitive information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We handle it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and our Privacy Policy.

14. Confidentiality

What you tell us in a consultation or workshop stays confidential, other than where disclosure is required by law or where there is a serious and imminent risk to someone's safety. In group settings we cannot guarantee what other participants do, so share only what you are comfortable sharing.

15. Our content

The text, images, recordings and materials on this site and in our workshops belong to us or are used with permission. You may read, save and print them for your own personal use. You may not republish, resell or use them commercially, or record our sessions or events, without our written permission.

16. Links to other sites

We sometimes link to other websites and practitioners. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, products or claims.
