Blood tests are a snapshot. They show you what is circulating in the body at a given moment, which is valuable but limited.
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) offers something different. Because hair grows over time, it captures a longer record of what the body has been doing with minerals and metals over the preceding months, rather than just on the day of the test.
What HTMA measures
An HTMA test analyses a small sample of hair from the nape of the neck and measures levels of essential minerals, including calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, copper, iron, and phosphorus, as well as toxic metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic, aluminium, and cadmium.
The patterns of these minerals, not just individual levels, tell a detailed story about adrenal and thyroid function, nervous system stress, digestive capacity, immune resilience, and toxic burden.
